1
On reaching Kathmandu by various airlines and checking at respective hotels with time for preparation, like buying bird guide book or other necessary items like binocular and maps of the area, required for the journey beyond Kathmandu.

The morning after breakfast, ready for an interesting drive to Chitwan for a wildlife safari and exciting bird watching. Chitwan National Park, designated as World Heritage Site. Morning a scenic overland journey heading down mid-south to reach low sub-tropical at Terai belt the flat land of Nepal.
Where dense deep green jungles are located, a home for wild mammals and bird-life, a drive of 4-5 hours to reach the suburb of Chitwan National Park at a town called Sauraha or near about. On arrival greeted by naturalists and staff of the hotel, lodge, or resorts, the transfer to your pleasant room with all modern amenities attached. Afternoon either elephant safari or short nature walks, as well as local Tharu village visit. Evening dinner with Tharu Folk Cultural program or a slide show of Chitwan wildlife.

Morning, start early for elephant safari or jungle walks as well to observe birds and be on the lookout for wild animals like the Royal Bengal Tiger, Rhinoceros, with many species of mammals and birds.
After safari or nature walks of few hours and then back to lodge for breakfast, after breakfast with refreshing time short walk to Rapti River to observe elephant bathing and briefing of the elephant life spotting river birds, like King Fisher, swift, swallow, sand martin and different species of ducks and egrets.
After lunch with the next jungle programs in the late afternoon for few hours and then evening for dinner as in the first day, the Safari program is set by the lodge and naturalist or hotel management. After lunch, a dug-out canoe float on Rapti River witnesses freshwater Gangetic Gharial and Mugger crocodiles, if lucky including freshwater dolphins, and otters with river bird-life.

From Chitwan with options for early morning bird watching or nature walks, and then having hearty breakfast, ready for a long drive towards Far South East to reach our other destination at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve.
Drive, leads on a nice major highway that joins the Far East and West of Nepal, an interesting journey past many towns and farm villages to reach Koshi Barrage, a dam that controls the flow of water, that creates havoc especially in Northern states of India, the border is close towards the south.
From here to the lodge and resorts at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, quite different to Chitwan due to fewer visitors with a peaceful ambiance to enjoy, which makes bird and animals sighting best with few people around and undisturbed.

Enjoy the early morning programs and nature activities with bird watching and taking photographs of sunrise as it shines through the jungle and wild landscapes.
After a hearty breakfast exciting day riding on a boat or in a four-wheel drive with pack lunch to observe birdlife, watching waders, waterfowls, birds of prey, marsh crocodile, otters, wild water buffalo as well fresh water and endangered Gangetic dolphins, a very rare sight and chance to see.
The tour includes a tower visit to observe many species of birds and wildlife, the program for the day set by the lodge, and naturalists who are experts in the area.
Optional activities elephant safari, boating on Sapta Koshi River a junction of other seven tributary rivers that joins to make greater Sapta Koshi, which is also a finishing point for rafting Himalayan Rivers, rafting downstream of Sun Kosi River.
The river boasts more than 60 different species of fish, which makes the perfect habitation for water birds, which you can witness more in winter times with different species of water birds from ducks, pochard, Storks, Cormorants, Ibis to fishing and serpent eagles including river gulls and swallows, after a great day back to camp for a nice refreshment and delightful dinner.

Early wake up on a clear fine morning to catch and takes a spectacular photograph of captivating sunrise, as well for early bird calls which makes the morning much more lively (the sunrise and sunsets views depends upon the time of the season, where autumn and winter times is the best).
After breakfast walk and drive within the deciduous forest near the town of Chatara one of the nearest towns, populated by mid-hills tribes of Kirat Rai, Gurung, Tamang, Magar, and Hindu Brahmin with Chettries.
Ride on a four-wheel drive to observe racquet-tailed Drongo, golden-backed woodpeckers, pied hornbills, leaf-birds, red-thigh falcons during the ride to Chatara. As time permits tour of the famous Barahi temple close to Chatara town, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
At Chatara, where one can enjoy taking photographs of the hill people with various Nepal’s ethnic tribes settled on the low lands, migrated from high hills and mountainous areas, where some come here to worship the temple of Barahi. An interesting place full of activity with an open market for shopping and bartering.
After a great interesting day back to Koshi Tappu for your last overnight night stay in this tranquil wilderness with sound and echo of the wild animals and birds.

As time schedule for a flight to Kathmandu from Biratnagar, enjoy breakfast and then drive on the same interesting highway that links east and west as well north to south of Nepal. Drive of few hours to the airport near the city area of Biratnagar then check-in for an exciting flight to Kathmandu, after a memorable and marvelous experience on Bird Watch in Chitwan and Koshi Tappu Wildlife tour.

Last day in Nepal in the country of Himalayan wonders, as per your international flight time either morning, afternoon, or evening. Open Trail Treks guide and staff transfer you to the airport for the homeward journey or to the next port of call.
