A steep and narrow path through a very dense forest will bring us to the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. This is probably the steepest part of the Marshyangdi Valley, so steep that the trail is carved into the vertical rock. After passing this last bit of rock, the valley opens up with majestic vistas. And right, where the valley widens, stands the Paungda Danda, a massive sloping rock face that rises over 5,000ft (1500m) above the trail. We trek for a while before reaching Lower Pisang where we spend the night.

The cold and dry climate also creates a much harsher environment. Our short visit to Barge monastery, the largest monastery in the entire district of Manang will be memorable. Overnight at Manang.

Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! the Open trail treks representative will escort us to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
Yes, Permits are necessary for Annapurna Circuit Trek because without having permits and Tim’s card you can’t enter and trek in the Annapurna region. Permits and Fees in Annapurna Region: To trek to Annapurna Circuit, you need two permits. One is the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) card. These costs: For SAARC nationals: Nrs.200 (about US $2) For Others: Nrs.2000 (about US $20) Second is the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card that costs NRS. 2000 (about US $20) Note: Open Trail Treks provides all the permits and Tim’s card for its visitors. We will also arrange permits and Tim’s card for those visitors who only want to get permits and Tim’s card without having any trek with us.
Autumn season (September to November) and spring season (March to May) are the best seasons to trek Annapurna Circuit and the favorite season of most trekkers. The temperature in those seasons is neither too hot nor too cold. Since the sky gets clear in those seasons you can enjoy a clear view of the mountains. In the autumn season, the villages look colorful and decorated because of the festivals as Dashain and Tihar lie during this period, and in the spring season, tourists can enjoy a spectacular view of full blossomed red and pink rhododendron which makes the forest colorful and more alluring. Open Trail Trek doesn’t recommend its visitors to trek Annapurna Circuit in winter (December to February) and summer (June to August)season, since because of rain in summer season trail became wet and slippery and in winter you can’t get to see the view of mountains, often in summer and winter seasons, mountains hide behind the cloud.
The first day is your arrival day in Nepal. On the second day, we do the last preparation for our trek and if we have time we also visit some world heritage sites around Kathmandu. Day 3 early in the morning, your guide will come to pick you up at your stay hotel in Kathmandu and take you to the bus station. Then, we drive to Bhulbhule via Besisahar to begin the trek.
We will stay in 3-star hotels at Pokhara and Kathmandu where you will have much more facilities of internet, bathroom, hot shower, and other facilities too. In the trekking region, we will stay at local tea-houses where we can’t have many more facilities like in Pokhara. You can found a private room but with a shared bathroom. There will be a communal area to have meals and seats next to the fire on cold nights.
We will enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well as the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.) during the trek. Breakfast and dinner will be provided from the teahouse or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be provided on the way to the next destination. All meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We also provide a welcome and farewell dinner to our guests in the local Nepali style restaurants.
Since trekkers will be walking across the high-altitude Thorong La Pass at 5,416m (17,764ft.), some may get altitude sickness while doing the trek but we do acclimatization before going at the highest altitude so that nobody has to face altitude sickness. You should learn more about altitude sickness and should be prepared mentally and physically before going on a trek.
Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the longest and hardest treks than Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The steep climbs and long distance along with rough trails made this trek harder. As it is a long trek, you need to be in great shape for physical fitness so that you can walk for at least 5 to 7 hours each day. Even beginners can do this trek provided that they train themselves at least 3 months prior to the trek. Cycling, swimming, acrobatics, hiking, jogging, and cardiovascular exercises are some ways to get your body trained for a successful journey in the Himalayas.
Your guide will be local Nepalese who speak fluent English and if you want a guide who can speak Chinese, Japanese, German, Spanish, and Italian and so on we can provide you those guides as well. Our guides are so close to culture, nature, wildlife, mountains, Trekking, climbing, places of Nepal this closeness will help you to explore the Annapurna region more. A local guide can show you many places most of the tourists missed when they travel alone. You will be guided by those guides who will have a Government Issue license that is fully equipped for tours, trekking, and mountain climbing.
