Tour Overview

Bardiya National Park Bird Watching and Photography Tour, only a few groups of visitors have the opportunity to be in this pristine location. As Bardiya National Park is situated in the Far South West of Nepal low land of Terai belt. 

A heavily farming and agriculture country, yielding rice, wheat, and other major crops the close to the park. Where wild animals like Royal Bengal Tiger, Rhinoceros, and deer roams within the park premises, as well near to some villages. In search of prey and a nice grazing area, one of the undisturbed areas with less number of tourists due to its remote location. Hence, it makes a perfect place for wild animals and birdlife, with an enjoyable safari in the quietness of the jungle. With only the sound of animals and bird calls, such as jackal, hyena, wild dogs with many peacocks, and wild jungle foals. Near the park, boundary farming has ceased in the Babai Valley, where natural vegetation is regenerating, making the area a prime habitat for wildlife. For endangered animals like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, tiger, swamp deer, blackbuck, with two types of crocodile Gharial and marsh mugger with rare Gangetic dolphin. 

Within the park, interesting bird watching and for photography of endangered birds, the Bengal Florican, Lesser Florican, silver eared mesia, and Sarus crane. 
Besides exotic birdlife of more than 200 species, the Bardiya National Park is home to more than 30 different mammals. Includes many snakes, lizards and fish have been recorded in the park's forest, grassland, and river habitats. 

Where a large number of resident and migratory birds are found within the park streams, ponds, and near Babai River. Certainly a nice and pleasant place for quiet sighting of birds and wildlife in the comfort of a nice cozy jungle lodge, situated near the park premises.

After an enjoyable and mesmerizing experience in the jungles of Bardiya National Park with time visiting the local Tharu village. Here you can witness the local immense culture and excellent photography of the indigenous tribe and their colorful custom. Then completing our wonderful Jungle and Nature activities, a short drive takes you to Nepalgunj city airport for a scenic sweeping flight to Kathmandu.

Day

1

On reaching Kathmandu by various airlines and checking at respective hotels with time for preparation, like buying bird guide book or other necessary items like binocular and maps of the area, required for the journey beyond Kathmandu.

2

Morning as per flight time for Nepalgunj, transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for a scenic flight with an amazing panorama of Himalayan range from Langtang, Manaslu, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri peaks, with country’s dramatic landscape views. 

After 50 minutes land at Nepal Far South West tropical city of Nepalgunj airport, at the airport our naturalist and guide receives you for a few hour drive further west from Nepalgunj city to reach on the outskirt of Bardiya Park, where many good hotels and lodge located.

Enjoy the afternoon visiting local villages of Tharu people for interesting photographs and witness impressive culture and custom, with dinner in the lodge, hotel restaurants.

Jungle activities with packed lunch: 

Morning Bird Watch Tour, Machan (Watch Tower) Tour, Jungle walks, nature 

walks, elephant or jeep safari with elephant briefing and bathing elephants 

include more with entertainment of local Tharu cultural programs.

Another full day for safari and bird watching as well taking photographs of some 

wildlife, enjoy jungle or nature walks to observe the animals like deer and wild 

boar, where the tiger is often sighted with one-horned or Indian rhinoceros with 

many species of birdlife and peasants, jungle fowls including peacocks.

 

Jungle and nature takes you near the river banks and ponds for more sighting of 

Birds like common to larger egrets, storks, kingfishers of various species and 

Crocodiles, while inside the jungle witness woodpecker, beautiful paradise fly 

catcher bird with more as you explore the quiet green area.

After a wonderful day, with some wild and rare animals sighting as well as watching 

many bird species of different vibrant colors, then back to the lodge enjoying a 

lovely active day.

5

More jungle and nature programs with more places of interest to explore from 

river, ponds to dense forest and open grassland to observe wildlife and birds, and 

then after a last morning activity, bid farewell to our naturalist and guide, then 

drive to Nepalgunj city airport for an exciting flight to Kathmandu.

With the rest of the afternoon free at leisure for personal activities and shopping gifts and souvenirs with a farewell dinner to complete your wonderful stay in Nepal.

Last day in Nepal in the country of Himalayan wonders, as per your international flight time either morning, afternoon, or evening. Open Trail Trek guide and staff transfer you to the airport for the homeward journey or to the next port of call.
